COSTUMES
From our very first production the late Ann Lintern made all the wonderful costumes for MPP, including all the ones for the 2001 summer MPP production of Bugsy Malone.
Ann retired after the 2004 production of Mother Goose but returned in 2006 to make the costumes for the dwarves in Snow White. In 2007 we were looking for a costume provider for our Panto Robinson Crusoe and found Pat Moss costumes of Brighton.
Unfortunately, due to ill health Pat retired so we were on the lookout again. In 2008 for our production of Jack and the Beanstalk we found Ann Ponton of Electra Costumes in Southampton. We hired Electra Costumes until 2012. We then found a costume supplier called Triple C which was nearer to home, and we have been using Triple C up to today. We did use a Bristol supplier for our production of Alice in Wonderland called Stage Style and they supplied us with some amazing costumes.
We have a large selection of costumes in our panto store ranging from UV insects, witches, wizards, fairies etc we even have a giant parrot. If anyone needs information on any of our costumes, please contact Kris McNeill at mcneill.kris@gmail.com
SOUND
Every effort is made to clearly hear everyone involved in the performance, from the lead role to the child with one line. There’s a microphone for everyone who needs one and a computer-based system to ensure they are switched on only when needed.
The quieter orchestra instruments are balanced with the louder ones through the P.A. speakers, so the audience hears the best sound we can offer. Sound effects are wherever possible, played from the stage to add realism to the soundscape.
